Hi, I’m TEESEE LOGAN.
Hi, I’m Teesee Logan. I am a Holistic Birth and Postpartum Doula serving the OC and surrounding areas. I am also a Newborn care specialist (NCS) and breastfeeding educator. As a postpartum doula (which includes full awake overnight care), I specialize in both prenatal and postpartum care and nutrition.
Whether you plan on birthing at home, in a hospital, or at a birthing center, I am here to support you. I typically work with clients from the beginning of their pregnancy through birth and on through the first year of their babies lives. I have various packages available and am able to work with you “full-service” for a longer period of time, or a shorter more “al a carte” doula.
While working together, I will help you gather knowledge and encourage you, while reminding you of your goals and values. I am an educator, but you are the parent and I know you are the expert on you. I trust that you will make the best decisions for you and your baby. I recognize that you have the power of choice and I will honor that no matter what. I am here for you, to show up for you and your family, and guide and support you as your advocate. I know that each birth is unique and you are capable and in charge of your experience. I will support you in your moments of vulnerability and in your moments of strength.
On a personal note, I have four adult children and two beautiful grandchildren. Having experienced four very different births with my own children as well as hundreds of previous clients, I realize the importance and impact that a positive and loving support team can have on your birth story. I believe that every birth is a miracle from God and as a mother, grandmother and trained doula, I consider it a privilege to support families throughout pregnancy, birth and in the months following. I would be honored to be your doula.
Psalm 127:3-5
“I listen with compassion and serve with my hands AND my heart.”
My
Approach
I have a deep love for mothers and birth and have made it my life’s purpose to provide resources, support, understanding and wisdom to families. As your Doula, my essential role is to provide continuous physical and emotional support, no matter what decision you make or how you decide to give birth. I am here to instill strength and reduce fear and will keep you inspired, optimistic, and mindful leading up to your birth, during your birth and thereafter. I will not only educate you, encourage you, and remind you of your values, but also make you and your partner feel safe, nurtured and supported throughout labor and birth. I am your confidant, your biggest fan, and your first phone call when labor begins.
With a handful of certifications (see below) I have made it my mission to support women through the miraculous journeys of child birth and beyond. With over a decade of experience as a personal trainer working primarily with women, I’m also formally trained in pre and postnatal nutrition, and have a matched multi-year career as a Doula having attended hundreds of births. I pride myself on providing excellent care for you and your partner leading up to your birth, throughout the birth experience (at-home or in-hospital), I continue to be by your side once you’ve given birth, honoring the golden hour, and encouraging skin to skin for both mom and dad as well as helping with your first feed and baby’s latch. If you decide to have postpartum care as well, my primary care is to mother the mother; making sure all her needs are met while also assisting with new born care and answering any questions along the way. I am here to empower you in so many ways and have been known in local circles as “The GG Doula”, harnessing both GRIT & GRACE and teaching you to have both grit & grace as I guide and support you through this beautiful chapter of life.

what is a birth doula?
In the past, we lived in communities where friends and family would tend to the birthing mothers and their families after. As our world and communities shift,we are called to fill the role of guide, believer, teacher of advocacy and friend to so many families. A doula is a companion through your prenatal, birth and postpartum journey. A birth doula assists your birth through emotional, physical and informational support.
what is a postpartum doula?
As your postpartum doula, I assist the mother and family during the transitioning and adjustment period of the newborn coming home. My top priority is caring for the mama by making sure she is getting rest, nutrition, and enabling her to have an optimal postpartum recovery. I encourage bonding between the baby and new parents and assist them with getting to know their new baby. I offer evidence based support on newborn sleep, soothing techniques, and everyday basic care. My goal is to provide a calm and peaceful environment so that the parents can recover and bond with their newborn during this precious time. I offer support in finding what works best for the parents as well as assist in finding outside resources for specific needs. Postpartum care can be any time of day, but is most often requested for evenings and overnights post-hospital return and beyond to give the baby 100% support, while caring for the mama (and dad, too!) to get some well-deserved rest and ask questions/get help.
DID YOU KNOW with a doula you have:
39% Decrease in risk of cesarean
15% Increase in likelihood of spontaneous vaginal birth
10% Decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief
41 Minutes shorter labor
38% Decrease in the baby’s risk of a low five minute APGAR score
31% Decrease in risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience
